Who Runs the World? Excel!

Last week I accidentally started a conversation about Excel with over 950,000 of my closest friends on TikTok. Between my original video and the one below πŸ‘‡πŸΌ there were thousands of comments sharing Corporate America's dirty little secret.

In the original video, I referenced this article, and the headline "Formula 1 chief appalled to find team using Excel to manage 20,000 car parts", and asked people where else they are using Excel that would "appall" their executives.

People came out in droves with specific use cases and general sentiments like, "Everything ends up in Excel at some point". Over and over in the comments, people kept asking "What's wrong with Excel?" Here was my response :

Don't get me wrong, Excel is a powerhouse in its own right, but it's not a cure-all. The real challenge lies in understanding when it's an asset and when it’s a Band-Aid on a larger issue. Keep reading to read more about why and how we should address this πŸ‘‡πŸΌ
